I lived in Cameroon, West Africa for 12 years. These years shared in a home with an African father and American mother, four enthusiastic siblings, and a long list of family and friends of different ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds greatly influenced me. I have always loved spending time with people and from very early on have wanted to help anyone in need. When I left Cameroon to live a block away from my grandparents in the suburbs of Chicago, those parts of me never changed. Head and Neck Surgery is the perfect specialty for me because I get to work with a fun and motivated team of people to help my patients get better. I also remain committed to service work locally and in West Africa.
I love ENT and am happy to see adult and pediatric patients with any ENT complaints. Since I am fellowship-trained in sinus and anterior skull base surgery, I have lots of extra experience managing diseases such as chronic sinusitis, nasal obstruction, nasal masses, CSF leaks, and pituitary/skull base tumors. I also enjoy treating benign and malignant tumors of the throat, parotid and submandibular glands, thyroid and parathyroid glands, and lymph nodes. I have dedicated my life to acquiring the knowledge and skills to provide the best and safest care to my patients. I provide this care with the understanding that many patients are often overwhelmed by the knowledge of a new diagnosis and in some cases, the prospect of a potentially risky surgery with a difficult recovery. I make sure my patients feel comfortable, get all their questions answered, and embark on the journey to recovery knowing they are in good hands and that I will be by their side the entire way.
I love being outside, long-distance running, mountain biking, hiking, scuba diving and skiing. I have dear and wonderful friends and a big family who I see and talk to frequently. We also plan fun trips together, which never gets old – we recently went diving with the sharks at the Denver Aquarium. I love volunteering and hope to occasionally do surgical mission trips to Cameroon.
