Acerca de mí
Growing up in Central Oregon fostered my appreciation for the Cascade Mountains and the Oregon coast. I love a fresh snow on Mt. Hood and Mt. Bachelor—though could live without driving in it—and I truly enjoy both the stormy winter weather and beautiful summer weather on the coast. I consider it a privilege to work as a therapist, to be let into the daily lives and struggles of my clients. I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and had the privilege of working in a wonderful behavioral modification program for children. Next, I moved to the East Coast and continued my work with children and families, which solidified my interest in becoming a therapist. I pursued that dream in California, where I attended Pepperdine University, completing a master’s degree in clinical psychology with a specialization in marriage and family therapy. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) in Oregon and Washington and a certified alcohol and drug counselor (CADC).
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I have worked in a range of mental health settings and enjoy the variety and diversity of my clients. By practicing compassion and establishing a strong therapeutic relationship, I believe I can help guide members to develop new insights and find their own unique resolutions. I use a collaborative and practical approach. I have spent many years working with children and their families and greatly enjoy that, and now I have been fortunate to be able to expand my work with adults, which I truly value.
Cómo vivo bien
I think it is important to maintain balance in life. I do this by spending time with my children, family, and friends. Social connection is extremely nurturing and important for my own well-being. I have friends throughout the country and make it a point to connect with them frequently, and I enjoy entertaining local friends and family. I love traveling and exploring new places, and when I do, I always make it a point to try the local dessert specialty and seek out locals’ favorite hangouts. I am a big live-music fan, and I try to attend concerts—when I am not at soccer games, basketball games, or swimming or school events for my children. Going to amusement parks, museums, loud concerts, and comedy shows are among my best self-care activities.
