Acerca de mí
Welcome to my Web page! Bienvenidos a mi página! My name is Dr. Pablo Inzunza Velazquez (yes, 2 last names since I was born in Mexico). You can call me Dr. Pablo, Dr. Inzunza, Dr. Velazquez, Dr. P, Dr. I — whatever you feel comfortable with. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit about me. I hope to have the privilege of helping you take good care of yourself.
I was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, but grew up in Tijuana. Both my parents are from Sinaloa. I moved to San Diego when I was 15 and finished high school at Mar Vista High in Imperial Beach. Afterward, I decided to go to UCSD to complete a bachelor’s degree in human biology. I worked as a science tutor for a year and then went to medical school at UCLA. I finally finished my family medicine residency here at Kaiser Permanente in San Diego. I love teaching, science, and helping people take care of themselves. I feel that as a doctor, I am responsible for teaching members how to care for their and their loved ones’ health. I am also very passionate about community service, particularly working with underserved youth and helping them get a higher education. I am involved in Kaiser Permanente’s Hippocrates Circle Program and helped design our Summer Urban Fellowship — both are mentoring programs to help promote health sciences.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I am trained in family medicine, which means I see children and adults. As I mentioned before, I love to teach, so most of my practice is centered around teaching preventive care to help members stay healthy. Many diseases nowadays can be prevented by living a lifestyle of healthy diet and exercise. It is my job as your health coach to provide you with the necessary tools to take care of your health.
Cómo vivo bien
I love to stay active. I love to play soccer, watch soccer — basically anything involving a soccer ball. I like to hike, bike, swim, and snowboard. I love spending time with my beautiful wife, my family, and my friends. I love to travel. I also love movies and video games. The best way to stay active is to find something you enjoy doing…that way it does not feel so much like a chore.
