Welcome! Bienvenidos! I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of my wonderful colleagues and our members, and I look forward to working with you to care for your health. It is very important that you feel comfortable with your personal physician, and I hope this page will help you start to get to know me.
I was born in Los Angeles, California, and am the youngest of four children. During my years in school, I realized the importance of helping others who did not understand the medical system or couldn't speak English well enough to access care, which inspired me to help bridge that gap by going into medicine. Being a bilingual physician allows me to better understand and treat my Spanish-speaking members, and it allows them to feel more comfortable clearly expressing their health concerns.
I feel that healthy living and preventive care are the best ways to stay healthy, but I am also here to help you when you are sick. I want to be your partner in health, and it helps me better care for you when you are actively involved in taking care of your health. It is a privilege to help members understand what concerns them, translate what they may not grasp, and facilitate getting them the care they need in order to get better.
I thrive by spending frequent outings with my three children. I am active in the Hippocrates Circle program, mentoring middle school students towards a career in medicine. When my busy schedule permits, I wind down by swimming or exercising on the elliptical cycle while listening to my iPod.
