Acerca de mí
I was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand. In 2005, I came to Hawaii with my wife for my residency training and fell in love with the people and climate here. My wife has been a great support to me, caring for our children and home.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
Many of my family members are in the medical profession. My father and older sister are both pediatric cardiologists, my mother teaches biochemistry in a medical school, and my younger sister is an assistant professor of pulmonology and critical care at Emory University. I felt that by specializing in gynecologic oncology, I could make the greatest impact on my patients’ health. This field includes nearly every aspect of cancer treatment, including surgery and chemotherapy. Scientific presentations that I’ve made addressed the issues of abnormal Pap test results and pre-cancer management, the prediction of disease using preoperative biopsy, ovarian cancer syndrome, and the use of drug combination in the treatment of ovarian cancer. My current research includes studies on hyperthermic chemotherapy and the basic science of growing cancer cells in the laboratory. I’m a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO), the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Royal Thai College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and the Thai Gynecologic Cancer Society. Attending the annual SGO conference as well as international conferences helps me keep up-to-date on the latest research. I serve on the tumor board at Kaiser Permanente and Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children, and I’m an assistant clinical professor at the University of Hawaii. In addition to English, I speak Thai, my native language. The Hawaii Permanente Medical Group is a large group practice that includes a broad range of specialties and subspecialties. It’s a great feeling to know that these fine physicians are available to me when I need assistance. My goal is to provide the best possible care to my patients as I help them navigate their cancer journeys. Strong family support in this process is very helpful. Seeing my patients cancer-free at follow-up visits is especially rewarding.
