Acerca de mí
I was born and raised in New Jersey and, prior to moving to Hawaii, spent my entire life on the East Coast. I had the opportunity to move here in 2006 and this has been without a doubt the greatest experience for me and my family. We have come to embrace island life and the aloha spirit.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I was drawn to medicine at an early age. My father was a physician who enjoyed his job and this heavily influenced me. Knowing what I wanted to do even before I finished high school, I was fortunate enough to get into Brown University's eight-year combined medical program. I always enjoyed studying the musculoskeletal system, and found orthopedics to be the most fulfilling field in medicine during clerkships. I have always had a particularly keen interest in hand surgery after I fractured my thumb during my youth. Unable to use my dominant hand for several weeks, it made me realize how amazing the hand really is and what we are capable of due to its elegant design and function. I currently serve as chief of orthopedics at the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group. I appreciate the collegiality and professionalism in our medical group. We all work together with the same vision and passion. I have the privilege of working with great doctors who have been validated through a thorough recruitment process and careful peer review. In my orthopedics practice, I’m always intrigued by what people do for work, sports, or other recreational activities. I enjoy gaining insight into jobs or lifestyles completely different from my own, which comes in handy when formulating treatment plans for my patients’ conditions.
Cómo vivo bien
I try to spend as much time with my family as possible. Traveling, reading, and weekend warrior sports help keep me balanced. My favorite sports include golf and snowboarding. I closely follow the New York Giants and Yankees. There is nothing more enjoyable than exploring the islands.
