Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, I graduated from the University of Hawaii with a bachelor's degree in medical technology. After working for several years in the lab, I decided I wanted to work with patients and have a direct impact on their care. I went on to get my master's degree in physician assistant studies at Pacific University in Oregon.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I was drawn to surgery because of the "hands on" work that we do, team approach, and satisfaction of solving our patients’ problems directly. When I worked in the General Surgery Department, I found myself also drawn to bariatric medicine. As I was assisting the surgeons during bariatric cases, I wanted to expand my role in this field. I find it extremely gratifying to see patients through surgery and beyond to emerge healthier, happier people. In my practice, I aim to be personable, caring, and gentle. This is especially important in field of surgery where patients need to put their trust in you in a fairly short period of time. I enjoy "talking story" with my patients. We often spend an hour conversing because they are usually awake while we are doing clinic procedures. It puts them at ease and makes the time go by faster for them. I am a fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Hawaii Academy of Physician Assistants. I am an associate member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.

My two children keep me very busy. I love to go to group exercise classes, especially Zumba! I enjoy spending time with my family and watching my children grow up. In addition to shopping, I love to travel but wish I could do it more often.
