Acerca de mí
Welcome and thank you for visiting my Web page. I appreciate your interest in knowing more about your doctor or simply somebody you work with. It is wonderful to have an opportunity to tell you more about my work and myself.
I was born and raised in Myanmar, a country formerly known as Burma, neighboring South East Asian countries such as Thailand and India. After finishing medical school there and getting my medical degree, I came to the United States to advance my career, gain first-world experience, and explore more opportunities. In order to get my United States medical license, I completed my three-year medical residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, followed by a year as a chief resident there. After that, I finished my year of geriatric fellowship at Mount Sinai St. Luke's in New York, immediately followed by two years of nephrology fellowship at New York Hospital Queens. With my training completed, I moved to Bakersfield in 2012 to be a part of Kaiser and to stay close to my family in Los Angeles. Since moving here, I found the friendly community heartwarming and the weather beautiful.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I believe in comprehensive care for patients. I enjoy being at Kaiser Permanente tremendously because everyone, whether they are nurses, pharmacists, doctors, or social workers, works so well together as a team. When healthcare professionals come together and work together, patients and community benefit. I am board certified in nephrology, internal medicine, and geriatric medicine. I am here to help patients not only with chronic kidney disease, end-stage renal disease, and kidney stones, but also hypertension, various kidney issues, and follow-up care for kidney or pancreas transplant recipients. As such, I often work collaboratively with several transplant centers in California. I consider myself fortunate to work in a place where people care about patients as much as I do.
Cómo vivo bien
As a medical practitioner, I spent the bulk of my time reading and catching up with new medical discoveries. In my remaining spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, visiting scenic places, shopping, and watching movies.
