Acerca de mí
Welcome to my Web page! I am grateful for this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself.
I was sickly as a child, with many visits to the emergency room and doctors' offices. This is probably the main reason why I became a physician. I wanted to be able to help others and to be part of a profession that aims “to cure sometimes, to relieve often, to comfort always.” I was born and raised in the Philippines, and I only came to the United States to train in internal medicine and geriatric medicine. I planned to go back home after training, but I fell in love with your country, and so I stayed. I first went to the East Coast, but I slowly went westward until I ended up here in San Diego. I love the city, its people, and its climate. And it doesn't hurt that, here, I can buy adobo and other Filipino dishes to go!
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I am with the Division of Continuing Care, and I am part of a team of doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses and therapists, social workers, and support staff that takes care of members in skilled nursing facilities. Our goal is to optimize the treatment of members' different medical conditions and to help them live as fully and as safely as possible when they get discharged. We also take care of members in long-term nursing homes. My colleagues also provide palliative and hospice care to members in their homes or in different facilities.
Cómo vivo bien
I love my work, but I believe in having a balanced life. Thus, I also find enjoyment and meaning outside of work. I relish the time that I spend with my extended family and friends, but I also find times of solitude as refreshing. I try to exercise, eat well, and get enough sleep regularly. I love reading books, watching college basketball and live theater, and traveling. And I am also active in my church.
