Acerca de mí
Hi! Thanks for visiting my Web page to get to know me a little better. Being available, compassionate, and respectful are important qualities that I value and wish to bring to every doctor-patient relationship. I am excited to be serving as your cardiologist, and I look forward to providing you excellent care.
I aspire to bring energy and information to my patients here at Kaiser Permanente. Together, we can work to prevent the progression of heart disease, and if it needs to be fixed with a procedure, we can accomplish that, too.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I am a Detroit native, but I spent most of my adult years in Chicago. I started at Northwestern University, majoring in biomedical engineering, and then completed medical school at the University of Illinois. I then returned to Northwestern for the next six years for internal medicine and cardiology training. Although I love Chicago—the food, people, and culture—I moved to San Diego for advanced interventional cardiology training at Scripps Hospital. At Scripps, I learned cutting-edge interventional techniques in several areas, including complex angioplasty, percutaneous aortic valve replacement, and peripheral vascular intervention. After completing training in San Diego, my supportive wife and I decided to make our home in Southern California. As an interventional cardiologist, I have a special interest in the technical and procedural aspects of treating heart disease; however, a healthy lifestyle with a balanced diet and regular exercise is the most effective approach to prevent heart disease. While I was in fellowship training, I started a cardiovascular health program at an inner-city church. With weekly lectures and collective group planning, participants were able to lose weight, decrease waist size, and reduce blood pressure.
Cómo vivo bien
Having a complete and balanced life is very important to my family and me. I have a wonderful wife and a toddler whom I adore. Our faith takes priority, and we are active in our church. Through the church, we have participated in a few medical mission trips abroad to Central America. I am a big sports fan, following both Detroit and Chicago teams. I enjoy playing tennis and golf, dancing, and listening to a variety of music. My latest interest is learning to speak Spanish, and I hope to be fluent, or at least a functional communicator, to further enhance my patient care.
