Acerca de mí
Hi there! Welcome to my Web page. I am excited to introduce myself, and tell you a bit about my surgical practice. I look forward to getting to know you and caring for all of your surgical needs.
I grew up on the East Coast, and completed my undergraduate studies and medical school in Connecticut. I did my general surgery residency in New York City, and then spent fours years in the United States Navy as a general and trauma surgeon. During my Naval career, I had the opportunity to serve our troops abroad in Sicily, and Guam, and here in Southern California at Camp Pendleton. I also served aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln. In 2011, I deployed to Southern Afghanistan with a Forward Surgical Team. After receiving an honorable discharge in 2013, I headed to the Midwest for specialized training in minimally invasive surgery and bariatric surgery. I returned to Southern California in 2014 to join Kaiser Permanente – which makes me the fifth active Kaiser Permanente physician in my family!
Acerca de mi práctica médica
My general surgery practice is broad-based and includes hernia repairs (inguinal, umbilical, ventral), gallbladder surgery, and gastrointestinal and colon surgery, as well as surgery for breast and skin cancers. I have advanced fellowship training in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, which includes bariatric surgery, foregut (hiatal/paraesophageal hernias, antireflux operations), and colon surgery, as well as complex ventral hernia repairs. I have published extensively in the areas of surgical oncology and laparoscopic and bariatric surgery.

Maintaining life balance is very important to me. My wife and I enjoy traveling, hiking, and eating at new restaurants. To stay fit, I play racquetball and squash. When time permits, I work on improving my photography skills.
