Acerca de mí
Welcome to my Web page! I am happy to share information about my life and practice so that you may get to know me better.
I grew up in San Diego with a disabled father who inspired me to seek a career in medicine. After undergraduate studies at UCLA, I transplanted myself to New York for medical school. I returned to sunny Southern California, home of 75-degree winters, for my internal medicine residency training. I practiced as a hospitalist (meaning I cared for patients who were being treated in the hospital) for one year, then completed further training in hospice and palliative medicine at the VA Greater Los Angeles Medical Center. I joined Kaiser Permanente Orange County in 2008 after finishing my training.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
My practice includes caring for both short-stay and long-term patients at skilled nursing facilities, providing consultations in the hospital and making house calls to those with serious life-limiting illnesses. At the nursing facilities, I find joy in caring for post-hospital discharge patients until they are well enough to return home. The most rewarding aspect of my practice is caring for those with serious illnesses. Our team explores the options for members and their families and provides care that matches their goals. We strive to address not just the physical ailments but also the emotional and spiritual needs of each individual. This approach to medicine focuses on treating the mind, body, and spirit. It is a privilege to be part of a team that provides an extra layer of support to members and families during this difficult time in their lives.
Cómo vivo bien
I enjoy spending free time with my extended family. My wife and I have been blessed with two energetic and happy children who bring us great joy. I also enjoy music, photography, and traveling. I believe the key to happiness lies in appreciating the things we have in our lives rather than yearning for things we do not have.
