Acerca de mí
Hello, and welcome to my Web page. I am a family medicine physician who does a bit of everything, though my areas of specialty are women's health (including prenatal care), mental health, and care for LGBT members. I feel that it is a profound gift to be an intimate part of peoples' lives, and I strive to provide an atmosphere for health and healing in my daily patient interactions.
I was born in a small town in Arizona and have lived in New England, New York City, Little Rock, Arkansas, and now Los Angeles. I went to Dartmouth in New Hampshire for both my undergraduate studies and medical school. I also have a M.S. in health care reform. I have been privileged to be a Kaiser Permanente since 2005. When I was a kid, I first wanted to be a molecular biologist. When I got to junior high, I knew I wanted to be a doctor. So, I did molecular biology research prior to medical school and lived both my dreams! I am a science nerd and love medicine, but most of all, I love the interaction with my patients.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I've done medical rotations in Tuba City on the Navajo reservation, Orange County, Hartford, Connecticut, and a VA hospital in Vermont. I take a piece of all the places I've been and try to make it a part of my practice. It is my goal to provide a non-judgmental space where health can happen.
Cómo vivo bien
My life is generally spent chasing around two very active young boys, and coordinating their many activities, but I also love to read and take advantage of Los Angeles’s many opportunities to see shows and concerts. I have a passion for preventing and educating against domestic violence, both at Kaiser Permanente and in the community. I serve on the breast feeding committee (I have helped make Kaiser Permanente more baby friendly) and on the drug utilization committee. I am also a mentor to a teen from a local STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) high school.
