Welcome to my Web page. Thank you for taking time to learn more about my practice. I look forward to partnering with you to care for your health.
I studied chemistry and microbiology at the University of Florida. I attended the University of Miami School of Medicine, and completed my obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Hawaii. I moved to Long Beach, California, to complete my fellowship and board certification in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. I have worked at Kaiser Permanente since 2007. My other passion is to deliver care to the underprivileged. I volunteer with multiple international medical groups to deliver care to indigent populations in Africa and Asia and teach local surgeons. Since 2006, I have done medical missions in Niger, Rwanda, and Vietnam. Keeping balance in my life is very important to me. I continue to expand my knowledge in art, music, and philosophy, as well as medicine. Medicine is a continuous learning process. I make it a priority to stay current on new techniques and technology to perfect surgical procedures.
Obstetrics and gynecology has been a wonderful career choice for me, because it allows me to help my patients through counseling, education, and procedural intervention if need be. Although I find obstetrics and gynecology very satisfying, urogynecology is particularly rewarding. The ordinary convenience of relieving one's self at a time and place of your choosing, like so many of the simple things in life, is often taken for granted. With loss of continence comes loss of independence, control, and most importantly, one's own dignity. Helping members reclaim their self-esteem and quality of life is what I find truly gratifying about this field.
