Thank you for spending the time to visit my Web page and getting to know a little about me and my practice style. I look forward to meeting you, being your doctor, and working with you to care for your health.
I was born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia. During my childhood, my family moved to China for two years but eventually returned to Indonesia. I spent my high school years in Australia and came to the U.S. to pursue my college education. I completed my undergraduate and my medical education at USC. Living in many countries and experiencing different cultures has helped me truly appreciate diversity. I had already made up my mind to be a doctor when I was in high school. The untimely death of my father at age 51 reinforced my desire to pursue a medical career to save lives and help sick people.
I truly enjoy my practice. I view my patients as partners in taking care of their health. Many of my patients have stayed with me since I started my practice at Kaiser Permanente in 1981. I have gotten to know them and their families to the point where they feel comfortable sharing their joy and sorrow with me and confiding in me. I feel that I have been able to build genuine, trusting relationships with my patients.
Amidst my busy life, I try to take time out to enjoy my hobbies and exercise regularly. I am an avid music lover. I learned violin to appreciate the beautiful classical pieces of the great composers. My family is the centerpiece of my life. We have strong family bonding. My wife and I raised three children and although our kids have moved out of the house, we still enjoy getting together for dinners and taking vacations together. My wife and I enjoy our two granddaughters. Having healthy children is truly a blessing.
