Acerca de mí
Hello, and welcome to my Web page! It's a great privilege for me to serve in this fine organization. I hope you'll learn a bit about me as a person on this page.
I was born in Taiwan, but came to the United States when I was 15. Since coming here, I have lived mostly in Southern California, except for my undergraduate education and fellowship training, both of which took place in New York. Having lived through many winter storms, I would have to say that the year-round sunshine in Southern California is a true treasure! I became a physician because I believe it allows me to help people become healthier. I chose pulmonary and critical care medicine as my specialty because I believe the lungs are among the most important organs in the body. As a pulmonologist, intensivist, internist, and sleep medicine physician, I have the opportunity to help people breathe better and live better.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
As a pulmonologist, I see members who have lung diseases such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary embolism, pulmonary hypertension, sleep disorder breathing, and chronic cough. I perform many pulmonary procedures, including bronchoscopy (EBUS (endobronchial ultrasound) and ENB-(electromagnetic navigation bronchoscopy)) and thoracentesis. As an intensivist, I take care of members who are critically ill in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). I manage members who are on ventilators and other life-support devices, and I perform many ICU procedures, including central venous and arterial line placement. Even though I'm a medical specialist, I firmly believe in whole-person care. After all, the body organs function together as a whole. I believe that health means the well-being of the entire individual-mind, body, and spirit.
Cómo vivo bien
I strive to take care of my family and myself, and find balance in my life. While at work, I give 100 percent. When I'm not at work, I try to spend as much time with my family as possible. I try to allow time for relaxation and things I enjoy. I have many hobbies, including music, sports, good food, and traveling. Life is precious, and we should all try to enjoy it as much as possible.
