Welcome to my Web page. I’ve been a Kaiser Permanente member since my birth at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, and since then my family's health has been cared for by Kaiser Permanente in Fontana. I’ve seen the system both as a member, and as a Kaiser Permanente physician since 1995. I truly feel this is the best medical system for me—both as a member and as a physician. I was diagnosed with breast cancer on a routine mammogram in October of 2013. I’m happy to still be ahead of the fight after a bilateral mastectomy and 12 weeks of chemotherapy. I’m alive today because of the preventive care philosophy of Kaiser Permanente.
I grew up in Fontana, having moved there when I was six years old. I was educated in the Fontana Unified School District attending Jurupa Vista Elementary, Sequoia Middle School, and Fontana High School. I then went on to the UC Riverside–UCLA Accelerated Biomedical Sciences Program, and graduated from UCLA in 1995 with my medical degree. I then came back to Fontana and completed my family medicine residency here at the Kaiser Permanente Fontana Medical Center. I have been with Kaiser Permanente ever since, and thoroughly enjoy me career in family medicine. I’m married to my best friend—who has been my best friend since junior high school—and we have four children.
I work part-time and enjoy the flexibility to practice while also serving on the family medicine residency academic faculty, where I’m lucky enough to teach residents how to be family medicine physicians. I have a special interest in adolescent medicine and run the weekly teen clinics on the campuses of Fontana High School and A.B. Miller High School. I’m also one of the few physicians here at Kaiser Permanente who runs an eating disorder program. I also have a special interest in procedures—I’m one of five physicians who run the vasectomy clinic.
I love practicing medicine in this wonderful environment that allows doctors to provide high-quality care, and still tap into their strengths and interests to make their careers enjoyable. This ultimately produces better, happier doctors. Kaiser Permanente also allows me to be a full person with time for my family and outside interests that keep me grounded. I enjoy being home with my husband and children. I also have some time to enjoy my favorite hobby—gardening.
