Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of my wonderful colleagues and our members, and look forward to working with you to care for your health.
I am from northern India. After my medical school there, I moved to Australia and New Zealand, where I obtained the Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry. Our family then moved to Chicago, where I did my fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Northwestern University. Prior to moving to Los Angeles, I worked at a large psychiatric hospital for many years. I worked with people with eating disorders, teenagers with self-injury behaviors, and kids with anxiety and social issues. I was also the medical director of an autism program.
I see both adults and children in my practice, but I enjoy working with teenagers the most. I feel that as a physician, I have the opportunity to help them make the right choices in life and be there for them as their mentor, if needed. I enjoy the partnership I have with my patients and their families.
I enjoy the work-life balance philosophy of Kaiser Permanente. I used to ski and ice skate in Chicago, but I am enjoying lot more sun now and have taken up tennis and golf. I like to read about U.S. history and science. As a family, we travel a lot. I also enjoy volunteer work like raising funds for a women’s shelter or teaching the community about autism. I want my kids to learn the value of volunteer work early in their lives.
