Hi, and welcome to my Web page! Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself, and share a bit about my practice. It is important that you feel comfortable when choosing a surgeon. I hope this page will help you get to know me.
I was born in Ohio, but have spent most of my life in Southern California. I attended college and medical school at UCLA. I earned undergraduate degrees in biology with a specialization in computer science. During this time, I became interested in neuroscience and neurological research focused on inflammatory responses to traumatic brain injury. I continued this work through medical school and my neurosurgical training at UCLA. In all, I spent about fifteen years as a Bruin. Following my neurosurgical training, I did a two-year research and clinical fellowship at the University of Michigan in complex spinal deformities. I returned to Southern California to join the Kaiser Permanente neurosurgery and spinal surgery team.
I am privileged to help people in a meaningful way, utilizing both surgical skills and medical knowledge, as well as listening skills to understand what patients need. I partner with patients to ensure they have thorough information to make informed decisions about their care options – both surgical and nonsurgical.
I firmly believe in Kaiser's philosophy of total health in mind, body, and spirit, and try to live it every day. Family life is my highest priority. I am married and have two young children. We enjoy going to restaurants, parks, and most of all, Disneyland.
