Acerca de mí
Welcome to my Web page. I am a board certified general pediatrician who has been with Kaiser Permanente since 1997.
I was born and raised in Riverside. According to my father, I was about nine when I told him and my mother that I wanted to be a pediatrician. I have always enjoyed science and helping people. I can remember one day when my mother, a registered nurse, brought home a preserved umbilical cord in a small bottle. She explained how the umbilical cord nourishes a baby during development. While in high school, I wanted to learn more about what it was like to work with patients, so I served as a hospital volunteer for two years (serving over 215 hours). The experience was very rewarding. I received my bachelor's degree in biology from UC Riverside and went on to receive my medical degree from UC Irvine. In 1997, I completed a three-year pediatric residency program at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. I love being a general pediatrician and cannot imagine doing any other job.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I feel very fortunate to be practicing medicine at our Los Angeles Medical Center, the tertiary referral center for Kaiser Permanente Southern California. We have both generalists and subspecialists here. I believe that this allows us to give the most up-to-date care to our patients. We have a large number of general pediatricians who work very well together.
Cómo vivo bien
With a very busy practice and home life, it can be difficult to eat healthfully and stay fit. My husband and I share the cooking responsibilities and minimize eating at fast-food restaurants. Although I do not work out on a daily basis as I used to, I try to do it at least three times a week. I often walk on my treadmill or lift weights. I also try to take the stairs at work and park as far as I can from the grocery store or mall entrance so that I am forced to walk. When I am not working, I love to spend time with my family and friends and attend the theatre.
