Acerca de mí
I am pleased to offer this Web page as a means to provide helpful medical information for members, as well as an opportunity for you to learn more about me. You will have access to current medical information, useful handouts, and helpful Web links. I am proud to be a member of the family medicine department at Kaiser Permanente. I hope to provide the highest quality of care and service to you.
I was born in Korea and came to the United States when I was 8. I lived in Chicago for 20 years and moved to Orange County in 1996. Ever since childhood, I had a lot of interest in math and science. Therefore, I studied electrical engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. After working as a computer systems analyst for four years, I decided to pursue a career in medicine. My desire was to integrate medical knowledge and technology to help people in a more direct way.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I like to empower members with medical information. I believe that medical care can be most effective when the physician and the patient work together. Whether the problem is diabetes or cancer, I like to provide pertinent information so that we can make the right decisions, together. I also believe that prevention is far more important than treatment. During my visits, I strongly emphasize preventive tests such as Pap tests, mammograms, and colon cancer screening.
Cómo vivo bien
I enjoy playing all kinds of sports (running, basketball, soccer, softball, tennis, etc.). I also enjoy reading and learning about a broad range of topics (from Guatemalan history to quantum physics). I also lead a team of physicians and dentists on short-term medical mission trips a few times a year to various countries (Guatemala, Costa Rica, etc.).
