Welcome to my Web page. I have been a physician at Kaiser Permanente for more than 25 years, both as a general pediatrician as well as a specialist in attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and its accompanying issues in children and young adults. I have had the wonderful opportunity to see thousands of children grow up to be healthy, successful adults, which I find very satisfying.
Becoming a doctor was a natural for me. I love working with people and have always enjoyed working with children and adolescents. What better way to work with kids then to provide care for them and help guide them on the road to adulthood. My interest in ADHD led me to do a fellowship in behavioral and developmental pediatrics to obtain expertise in that area.
My practice, at this point in my career, is mainly a subspecialty in the area of behavioral pediatrics and school-related problems. I no longer maintain a pediatric practice due to the overwhelming demands of my work on ADHD and related problems. My learning disorder practice is a referral-based clinic that specializes in ADHD and some of the accompanying conditions.
I am an avid physical fitness advocate. I love to cycle, hike, run (a little), and go to the gym. This not only keeps me healthy, it is a great stress reliever that keeps me fresh and energetic. I also try to eat healthily, which certainly ties in with the above. After all, if you are in the business of trying to keep people well, I think you must set the appropriate example.
