Welcome and bienvenido! It is both an honor and a pleasure to be part of your health care team here at Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center. My goal is to help meet your urologic health care needs so that together we can find solutions to any current issues and prevent future ones.
I received my medical degree and urology training at UC Davis. I then completed fellowship training in urologic reconstruction, urodynamics, and neuro-urology at the University of Toronto. I began my career at Brown University and then at the University of South Florida where I was a teacher, mentor, and surgeon. I then came to Southern California with my family and I'm very pleased to have joined Kaiser Permanente.
My practice involves treatment for both men and women. For women it may range from simple prevention and treatment of urinary tract infections, to voiding issues, incontinence, and pelvic pain. I also perform surgery for more complex issues like prolapse, urinary fistula, and urethral diverticula. For men I also treat voiding issues and incontinence, along with erectile dysfunction. In addition I manage urethral stricture for both genders, along with ureteral and bladder reconstruction, including for those patients with neurologic issues or who require urinary diversion. In some cases of urinary dysfunction, I can help with neuromodulation, which may be performed in the office, or with the surgical implantation of a neurostimulator. My goal is to make sure my patients are well informed of their medical and surgical options, and to first try the simplest, least invasive treatment that meets their individual needs.
I personally stay well by keeping busy in my work and enjoying life with my family. My wife and I enjoy hiking and boating, but above all else sharing with our children who are young adults and the pride of our lives.
