Acerca de mí
Welcome to my Web page. I am glad to have the opportunity to introduce myself. Hopefully, this page will help you get to know me and make you feel more comfortable when we meet in the office.
I know that going to the doctor can be an anxiety-producing experience at first. Let me share a little of my background. I was born in Vietnam and came to the United States at the age of 11. I tore the ACL ligament in my knee during a high school basketball game and went through knee surgery three months later. That unfortunate experience sowed the seed of my wanting to become a physician, so I guess there was a silver lining. I attended the seven-year combined medical program at Villanova University and the Medical College of Pennsylvania, and then chose sunny California to for my internal medicine residency at UC Irvine Medical Center. Everyone told me residency training would be the hardest years of my life, but I had a great time. I guess if you enjoy what you are doing, that changes everything! I still meet the friends I made during my residency every couple of months. Our conversations about work have now been replaced by family stories, and pictures of puppies or babies.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
Being a physician is a wonderful privilege and I do not take my patients’ trust lightly. For me, the ideal way to practice is to gather the information and present to you several treatment options. We can discuss the risks, benefits, and alternatives, and you and I will choose together the best treatment for you.
Cómo vivo bien
To keep myself healthy, I try to exercise at least three times a week on my treadmill (in front of the TV since I also find running on the treadmill rather boring). On weekends, we often take our kids and our little Maltipoo dog to the park for a game of Frisbee and tag.
