Thank you for taking the time to view my Web page and giving me the opportunity to introduce myself.
I grew up in New York. As a practicing and board-certified anesthesiologist. My goal is to provide you with safe and effective anesthesia. I have a special interest in acute postoperative pain control. I utilize a broad base of medications, epidurals, spinal blocks, and peripheral nerve blocks so that my patients have a comfortable experience while recovering from surgery. To provide anesthesia as safely and effectively as possible, many of my nerve blocks are done under ultrasound guidance.
In addition to being an anesthesiologist, I am also a board-certified pain medicine specialist. Acute pain can be helpful because it lets a person know that there is a bodily injury or disease to the body. However, chronic pain often offers little or no pathologic explanation of the cause and is perceived by many patients as a "broken record" that plays over and over. In my pain management practice, I work with a team of medical specialists; psychiatrists, physical therapists, internists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, psychiatrists, and others - so that we can provide an integrated plan of care. Utilizing advanced interventional procedures, medications, and therapies, I want to help patients manage their chronic pain. The common procedures I use are epidural steroid injections, facet injections, radio frequency nerve ablation, sympathetic nerve blocks, spinal cord stimulators, discography, and peripheral nerve blocks.
Although I love my job, I believe keeping a good balance in life is important. Some of my favorite activities outside of work are snowboarding, playing the guitar, bicycling, and playing soccer with friends.
