I'm glad to have the opportunity to present my credentials to you and share some other information about myself. It's important that you feel comfortable with your surgeon, and I hope this page will help you start to get to know me.
I was born in Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine in 1990. I moved to California to pursue my training in general surgery and I have been with Kaiser Permanente ever since. I have been chief of general surgery since 2002 and was appointed regional chief of general surgery in 2013. I am a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the Society of Surgical Oncology, the Los Angeles Surgical Society, and the Pacific Coast Surgical Association. I am also an expert reviewer for the Medical Board of California.
Our team here at the Baldwin Park Medical Center includes physicians, physician assistants, nurses, and other professionals who strive to provide compassionate care in a friendly environment. We want to work together with you to address your specific health needs and concerns.
I feel that healthy living and preventive care are the best ways to stay healthy, and I try to incorporate that into my life every day. I also believe it is what we do outside of the hospital that makes us better care givers in the hospital. I am the father of three young kids who keep our family very busy. We are also very active in the local art community at LACMA, the Hammer Museum, LAXART, and the UCLA Department of Photography.
