Acerca de mí
I am a native of Michigan and completed my undergraduate education at the University of Michigan, where I majored in Engineering and graduated Magna Cum Laude. After receiving my medical degree at New York Medical College with Alpha Omega Alpha honors, I completed my Internal Medicine training at UCLA. I then went on to complete my Cardiology Fellowship at University of Southern California, where I was named the Cardiovascular Fellow of the Year. Finally, I completed my interventional cardiology fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital in Michigan.
I find interventional Cardiology to be an extremely exciting field. It combines the diagnostic realm of general cardiology along with a portion of the procedural aspects of cardiothoracic surgery. Being able to relieve a member's suffering from a massive myocardial infarction (heart attack) can be extremely rewarding. I feel that interventional cardiology is one of the fields where you can have such dramatic impact on the member's life in such a quick manner.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I truly enjoy my job. Prior to coming to Kaiser Permanente, I was in private practice for 4 years in Bakersfield, where I had a chance to perform numerous procedures in the most acute settings. I also had the privilege of being the first physician to perform a transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) procedure for aortic stenosis in Kern County. In private practice, I had the chance to treat a large Kaiser population and was impressed with the integrated approach to care. I always felt that Kaiser members had the best outcomes. When I was approached by Kaiser to provide interventional cardiology services in-house, I was extremely honored and jumped on the opportunity.
