Hello, and welcome to my Web page. I'm glad to write a little bit about myself, as I believe that a relationship starts with knowing the most we can about each other. This is a small step towards bringing my life story to my patients. Doctors are often involved deeply in a person's medical and sometimes their personal lives, and although this brings with it a greater responsibility it also brings great satisfaction.
I've lived in California since the age of 12, when I came to the United States from India along with my father, who was a physical therapist. His love for science was also mine. I eventually went on to become a physician, finishing my residency in Baltimore, Maryland. I met my beautiful wife there and have two wonderful children whose unconditional love gives me the greatest bliss I've ever known.
One quote that I often fall back to in what guides me as a physician is the following: "Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle." Each word in this quote carries a great deal of meaning for me in my role as a physician. Along with the medical knowledge necessary for the help in healing, I believe the attitude of kindness is most needed when someone is ill.
As I've gotten older, I've come to appreciate the need to balance life and work. I'm also trying to teach this to my family, so we often do family activities such as soccer, tennis, hiking, walking, camping together. Despite some grumblings, we've managed to camp at almost all the major national parks of the west.
