Acerca de mí
Thank you for visiting my Web page. And thank you for choosing Kaiser Permanente. I know you had many choices when it came to health care, and I thank you for choosing us. I always tell my members, "I’m not just your doctor—I’m your teammate, your partner, and your coach." My members know that they are the most important part of their health care team. No one knows your body better than you do.
I’m Armenian by birth. I was born in Armenia—a small country in Europe. My family and I moved to the United States in 1991 and decided to settle down in Southern California. I actually lived in Glendale for about 16 years before moving to Arizona for medical school and my post-graduate residency training. I graduate from Clark Magnet High School, and received my bachelor’s in neuroscience from UCLA. My hobbies include reading, watching movies, trying authentic foods from different countries, working out at the gym, and spending time with my loved ones. I’m a deacon at my church, so I try to go to mass weekly. My faith is a big part of my life.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I’m an osteopathic physician (D.O.). That means I’m essentially a cross between a medical doctor, a chiropractor, and a physical therapist. While in medical school, I received extra training in musculoskeletal medicine. I help treat chronic pain, muscle spasms, low back pain, and headaches—all with the use of my hands, using manipulation. This is a nice tool to have as a physician—in addition to everything else contemporary medicine has to offer. I like to take more of a holistic approach to medicine and look at the human body as a whole. I believe that dysfunction in one part of your body can very well affect other parts. Furthermore, I believe in our body's innate ability to treat itself, given the right conditions and appropriate amount of time.
Cómo vivo bien
My faith grounds me as does my family—they’re the reason I am where I am. My love for medicine drives me—I truly enjoy what I do. Every challenge at work is another excuse to learn. I love to teach my members whatever I know, but I also love to learn from them. We all bring knowledge to the table, some through the work we do, others through life experiences.
