Hi, and welcome to my Web page! I’m happy to introduce myself to you. I am a pediatric hospitalist, which means I care for children from newborn to just under age 18 while hospitalized. I am fortunate to be part of an excellent group of pediatricians here at the Kaiser Permanente Downey Medical Center. I look forward to working with you and your children and providing your young ones with high-quality, comprehensive health care.
I am a native of Southern California, born and raised in Whittier. I bleed Cardinal red and will always root for my alma mater, Stanford University, at any sporting event. I studied human biology with an area of concentration in child development. After college, I joined Teach for America and taught kindergarten for 3 years in Los Angeles. I had wanted to be a doctor since I was 4 years old, but I also loved teaching. It wasn’t until a tragedy impacted my family that I renewed my desire to pursue medicine. I completed my medical training at USC, where I met my husband and then stayed on for residency in the LAC/USC Combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Program. I enjoy spending time with my husband and 2 daughters, reading, cooking, and exercising. I’m also an amateur baker and enjoy designing cakes for my daughters’ birthdays.

I feel it is an honor to have the opportunity to care for your children. Parenthood has made me a better pediatrician, as I understand and respect how difficult it is to see your child hospitalized and sick. I am here for all of your questions (and your children’s) and will try to alleviate any concerns you may have. Here at Downey Medical Center, we have an extraordinary group of physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and support staff. I am lucky to be a part of this team and also to have the opportunity to interact with children every day.
Cómo vivo bien
I believe balance and doing what you love are the best ways to stay well. I lead a healthy life by balancing work with time with my girls and husband, reading, eating a balanced diet, and exercising frequently. I love to be outdoors: at the beach, hiking in the mountains, walking around our local farmers market, or camping with my family. I bike, swim, run, and enjoy group fitness classes such as spin, TRX, and yoga. I began competing in sprint triathlons last year and continue to train for triathlons, throwing in the occasional running or biking race in between. I cook often and love to learn new recipes from friends from different cultures. My latest baking project is decorating cookies, but the time I enjoy the most is singing and being silly with my 2 young daughters.
