Acerca de mí
Hi, and thanks for visiting my Web page! I’m happy to give you an opportunity to get to know me a little better.
I am a native Angeleno, originally from San Pedro. While my education, training, and National Health Service Corps obligations have taken me all over California and the South Pacific, I am happy to be back home in Southern California! Following my pediatric residency training at Children’s Hospital Oakland, I worked for 4 years in the Pacific island territory of American Samoa, caring for all pediatric patients, including critically ill children and infants. As the only pediatrician performing echocardiography for the island’s large population of children with rheumatic heart disease, I saw the benefits of bedside ultrasound as a useful adjunct to practice, and I made this a main focus of my critical care training. I developed a bedside ultrasound curriculum for pediatric critical care fellows, and I am excited to share this skill with my colleagues and members here at Kaiser Permanente.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
The pediatric critical care team at Kaiser Permanente is dedicated to providing high-quality care to our members. We understand that critical illness is an extremely difficult and stressful experience for our members and their families and loved ones. With attention to detail and a focus on the health and safety of the children we care for, we seek to provide a supportive environment to foster healing for sick children and their families and to address all our families’ concerns. You can be confident that our team’s ultimate goal is making your child better.
Cómo vivo bien
I believe that taking care of my body and mind is important so that I can take the best care of my members. I love the ocean, and surfing keeps me sane and fit! I have traveled all over the world chasing waves, including Central and South America, Hawaii, the South Pacific, and Europe. Traveling also lets me experience other cultures and world views and gives me an appreciation for our differences and similarities. And if the waves don’t cooperate, I’m still in the ocean, either paddling my prone paddleboard, scuba or free diving, or just going for a swim. I also enjoy cycling and just riding my bike around the neighborhood.
