Acerca de mí
Welcome to my Web page. I am blessed to be working at Kaiser Permanente’s South Bay Medical Center. I collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other support staff in my effort to make a difference in my patients’ health and well-being every day.
I was born and raised in Seoul, Korea, and immigrated to the United States in 1986 with my parents in pursuit of the American Dream. I studied biochemistry at UC Berkeley, where I learned to appreciate different cultures and ethnicities. I attended medical school at St. Louis University and completed my training in internal medicine and nephrology at LA County-USC Medical Center. Prior to coming to South Bay Medical Center, I practiced nephrology at Kaiser Permanente in San Diego and in a private group in San Fernando Valley. I’m looking forward to a long career here at South Bay Medical Center, where I am growing personally and professionally every day.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
Everyone deals with his or her personal and medical problems differently. As a physician, I not only try my best to provide the most up-to-date medical advice to my members but also to help them cope with their kidney disease in the context of their culture and background. I always emphasize to my patients that they are not alone in their journey through kidney disease. My team includes a kidney social worker, kidney dietitian, kidney pharmacist, and several excellent registered nurses who help me with various kidney-related challenges. My team and I are always eager to assist our members physically, emotionally, and spiritually. My patients are the best teachers and, oftentimes, role models who I strive to emulate!

I believe that one’s mind is closely related to one’s body. Positive attitude towards life is a potent medicine. It motivates us to stay healthy, take the right medications at the right time, eat sensibly and exercise. A positive outlook also allows us to enjoy and cherish our family, friends and co-workers, which in turn helps us stay healthy. A healthy mind promotes a healthy body!
