Acerca de mí
Welcome to my Web page. I'm happy to have this opportunity to introduce myself and tell you about my practice. It's important that you feel comfortable with your pediatrician and I hope this page is helpful in doing that.
I was born in New York and went to medical school at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in Manhattan. I chose pediatrics as a career after doing my pediatric rotation during my third year of medical school. After my pediatric residency at UCLA, I moved back to New York for several years to get further training in pediatric infectious diseases. I was also briefly in private practice on Long Island. I chose to move back to Los Angeles in 1993 to work at Kaiser Permanente since I’d had many excellent colleagues and mentors already working for Kaiser Permanente. I continue to be on the clinical faculty at UCLA. I definitely made the right decision to move back to Los Angeles and to have a career at Kaiser Permanente.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I practice both general pediatrics and pediatric infectious diseases. I’m a strong believer in preventive medicine and encourage my members to lead a healthy lifestyle. I try to be easily accessible to my members for appointments and encourage members to contact me by phone or email. Although I spend most of my time with members, I also do research in pediatric infectious diseases and present my findings at national and international meetings. I enjoy authoring articles in medical journals and writing chapters in medical books as well. I stress the importance of a healthy lifestyle to my members and I practice what I preach.
Cómo vivo bien
I’ve exercised extensively throughout my life. In college, I was on the track and wrestling teams at the University of Pennsylvania. I ran marathons in medical school. I currently exercise regularly at the YMCA. I see many of my members exercising there, too. I'm also the manager and pitcher of an adult softball team. I try to keep most of my weekends free to spend time with my wife and daughter.
