Acerca de mí
Hello there! Welcome to my Web page. My name is Dr. Mark Abramson, but you can call me Dr. A. By reading my profile, I hope my patients and their families will get to know me better as a person as well as a doctor.
Like many doctors, I chose medicine as a way to connect with people and help them through difficult circumstances. Getting to know my patients and their families is a privilege. I enjoy the challenge that practicing medicine provides. On my off days, I enjoy golfing or playing tennis with family and friends. I’m fortunate to have lived my entire life in Southern California. I love the variety of activities that our area and climate provide. I try to stay active and practice what I preach about exercising regularly. I’m always trying to eat the right foods, but I admit to having a sweet tooth. I have a wonderful family life with three children I’m very proud of. They are my main focus of attention when I’m not at work.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
My training is in general internal medicine and geriatrics. After having an office practice for 25 years, I recently joined the Department of Continuing Care. Now I spend time working at a nursing facility where we treat Kaiser Permanente members who are recovering from severe illnesses. I also make home visits to terminally ill hospice patients. I have enjoyed the new practice and feel that I’ve been able to guide my patients and their families at a critical time. I have a wonderful staff to work with at Kaiser Permanente, which is a big reason I enjoy coming to work.
Cómo vivo bien
I try to maintain my health by staying active mentally and physically. The mental part is easy since the practice of medicine demands that I stay current regarding medical education and advances. Being active physically is something I have always enjoyed. I feel blessed that I’m healthy and able to remain active into middle age. I enjoy participating in many sports and try to swim or run at least twice per week. I have participated in a few triathlon races, where I’ve been fortunate to finish but always wind up far behind the leaders.
