Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this opportunity to introduce myself to you and tell you about my work as a physician at Kaiser Permanente. I am a board-certified neonatologist who primarily works in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) taking care of sick newborns and premature babies. I am also a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and an advocate for children. I have been practicing since 2008 at the Panorama City, Woodland Hills, and West Los Angeles medical centers. I feel fortunate to be able to work at Kaiser Permanente.
I wanted to be a pediatrician from the age of 7. I grew up in the Philippines, where I finished medical school and pediatric training. My journey to live in the United States helped me become a better person in terms of my personal and professional life. I am happily married and blessed with a supportive husband and three beautiful children. I was fortunate to do my pediatric training in the Texas Tech University-El Paso program and my neonatology fellowship at LAC-USC Medical Center. I always knew that practicing medicine would give me the opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives, especially babies. I’ve always loved babies, whom I felt needed me the most.
I work mainly in the neonatal intensive care units at the Panorama City, Woodland Hills, and West Los Angeles medical centers. I am fortunate to join a supportive group of colleagues and medical staff who are committed to providing excellent service and a high standard of practice. Being a neonatologist gives me a special opportunity to help and connect with people in a meaningful way, utilizing medical skills, knowledge, and evidence-based medicine, but also listening and responding to what patients need. I feel very honored that parents have entrusted me to take care of their children and I strive to treat them as I would my own children.
My family keeps me in balance. I am a busy mother and my children give me joy and love. I try my best to eat healthy food and do regular exercise such as walking, elliptical workouts, and Zumba dance. I also make it a priority to set aside time to just relax or contemplate. I value my faith, which gives me good perspective and optimism in life.
