Acerca de mí
I welcome the opportunity to introduce myself as well as the field of interventional radiology. Kaiser Permanente allows me to focus on my chosen field of medicine and thereby provide the best care that I am able.
I grew up primarily in the San Fernando valley and Simi Valley. I attended UCLA for my undergraduate degree and majored in psychobiology. Throughout my undergraduate years, I worked and did research in the department of radiology. Therefore my roots and interest in the field began when I was 18 or 19 years old. Following graduation from UCLA, I spent a year doing research with my mentors in interventional radiology at UCLA. This continued while I spent two additional years receiving a Masters degree in Public Health at UCLA. I then left UCLA to attend medical school in Chicago. I earned Alpha Omega Alpha honors for my efforts which is the medical school honor society. I spent one year in San Diego for my internship and then returned to UCLA for both my residency and fellowship in interventional radiology. Although tempted to stay at UCLA as faculty, my family decided that orange county was going to be our final destination.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
The field of interventional radiology applies imaging guidance to perform minimally invasive procedures. This can be done for both diagnostic purposes as well as treatment. We are able to use imaging to perform a wide range of procedures from biopsies to the treatment of cancer. I was drawn to the field because it seemed to provide much better options for patients for the treatment of their disease.
