Acerca de mí
Welcome to my Web page!
I grew up in Santa Barbara. I went to Princeton University in New Jersey for college and then worked in Washington, DC, providing social services through AmeriCorps to new immigrants. As the international crisis in Eastern Europe erupted around the same time, I worked mostly with Bosnian refugees as well as families from Latin America. After surviving several major winter storms on the East Coast, I decided to defrost by returning to California. I attended UCLA for medical school and did my pediatric residency at Harbor-UCLA. Then I worked at Regional Center of Orange County, providing assessments and advocacy for children and adults with developmental disabilities before coming to work here at Kaiser Permanente as a general pediatrician. The reason I became a pediatrician is because I believe in the importance of advocacy for our smallest and most vulnerable members of our community. I understand that there are many different ways to successfully raise a child, and I enjoy getting to know members and their families, and coming up with ways that are compatible with their values in order to allow them to live healthy lives.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I believe that it takes a team effort to provide great care for members. Therefore, it's important to me that both the children and their families feel comfortable with the care I give. I put a lot of emphasis on educating children and their families so that they have a good understanding of their medical conditions.
Cómo vivo bien
I live a healthy life by spending time with my husband, son, and extended family that live close by. I enjoy traveling, hiking, trying new foods, and visiting National Parks. I also have experience in flamenco, hula, Tahitian, and ballroom dancing as well (although I can't say I'm particularly talented, which is why I still have my day job at Kaiser Permanente).
