Welcome to my Web page. Please allow me introduce myself to you and tell you about my work as a physician at Kaiser Permanente. I’m a radiologist at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. My subspecialty is pediatric radiology.
I grew up with a nuclear physicist father and electrical engineer mother in Beijing, China. I did not follow in either of their footsteps. Instead, I followed my grandfather's passion for medicine. After finishing medical school at Peking University, I went to the University of Rochester in New York to expand my research experience. Although I worked in very exciting research fields like diabetes and stem cells, my main interest remained in clinical application of medical knowledge. After years working as a research scientist, I went on to finish my radiology training, followed by a pediatric radiology fellowship. Finding answers in millions of pixels is my passion, especially, when it involves a young child's health and well-being.
You may not see us very often, but radiologists work very hard behind the scenes to study member imaging—CT, MRI, ultrasound, and X-ray—and provide insight on your diagnosis or prognosis. Additionally, we also perform certain procedures for diagnostic purposes. My practice is more focused on the pediatric population—ranging from unborn fetuses to newborns and teenagers.
Work-life balance is very important. I love to spend time with my children. Helping them grow and learn is a major focus of my life outside of my medical practice. We love hiking, swimming, skiing, and traveling.
