Acerca de mí
I'm glad to have the opportunity to present my credentials to you and share other information about myself. It's very important that you feel comfortable with your personal physician, and I hope this page will help you start to get to know me. I am currently the cornea and external disease specialist for the Orange County Kaiser Permanente Medical Service Area. I specialize in cataract surgery, corneal transplants, pterygium surgery, anterior segment tumors, and refractive procedures.
As an undergraduate, I studied computer engineering, economics, and biology. Prior to medical school, I worked at AT&T Bell Laboratories (Lucent Technologies), McDonnell Douglas (Boeing), and Unisys. After much dissatisfaction with the tech industry, I decided to pursue a career in medicine. I attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and graduated with honors (Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society). I completed my ophthalmology residency at the UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute. My post-graduate fellowship training was at the Johns Hopkins Medical Center Wilmer Eye Institute. After completion of my fellowship, I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2002.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
My subspeciality training focused on cataracts, refractive procedures, and cornea and anterior segment diseases of the eye. I routinely perform cataract surgeries, corneal transplants, pterygium excisions, and conjunctival tumor excisions. Much of my knowledge base and training comes from the excellent mentors and training I had at the Jules Stein Eye and the Wilmer Eye Institutes.
Cómo vivo bien
I enjoy photography. Some of my extracurricular time is spent as an officer of the Gift of Vision Foundation, a non-profit organization involved in medical mission work in Guatemala. This is a foundation established by my parents after their retirement; they are both active Kaiser Permanente members.
