Acerca de mí
Thank you for taking the time to visit my Web page. I hope it will help you be more comfortable with me when you come to your appointment.
I grew up in Southern California in a large family, spending my days going to the beach or working on my VW bug. I attended Pasadena City College and played football for their nationally ranked team. Then I left for Atlantic Canada, spending two years on a mission for my church. Afterwards, I attended Ricks College in the small town of Rexburg, Idaho, before finishing my degree in exercise physiology at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I attended the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, and then had four years of extensive trauma and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery training at residencies in Ohio and Michigan. While in school, I happened to convince a beautiful woman to marry me, and we now have five children, three of whom were born in Kaiser Permanente hospitals. I became a physician because I enjoy helping others heal from physical problems, and I became a surgeon because I like working with my hands. Being a podiatric surgeon is a challenging but very rewarding profession.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I joined Kaiser Permanente because the organization allows me to participate in an integrated health care model. It's a privilege to be able to collaborate with your primary physician and other specialists to achieve the best possible results. The best outcomes are achieved when both you and I are actively involved in taking care of your health. I believe surgery is most effective when it is approached conservatively and only after other options have been tried or are known to be ineffective. I have found that practicing this way provides significantly better surgical results.
Cómo vivo bien
I thrive by spending time with my family and doing activities with them. Southern California provides lots of opportunities for fun outdoors, whether it is a day at the beach, a bike ride around the neighborhood, a swim in the pool, or a trip to the zoo to hang out with the animals (if we're lucky, the kids will get to pet a snake while their dad watches at a safe distance). My interests include home improvement (assuming I don't run into problems), auto restoration, white water kayaking, and mountain biking. My favorite sports are volleyball and college football. Go BYU!
