Acerca de mí
Greetings! It would be my pleasure to assist you in the management of your physical and mental health. I'm frequently asked, “What does D.O. stand for?” Well, it stands for Doctor of Osteopathy. Most people don't realize that there are actually two types of nationally recognized medical doctors—MDs and DOs. DOs simply have extensive training in the muscular, skeletal, and neurological systems, the ways they're interconnected, and how they all relate to a person's overall well-being, and physical and mental health.
I was born and raised in Brooklyn and lived most of my adult life in Philadelphia. Since I went to college just outside of Philadelphia, I relocated there and stayed to finish my medical schooling. I went straight into private practice after I finished my residency in family medicine. As my practice grew, I worked in three different locations in Philadelphia. I enjoyed 11 years of private practice in that historic city. In 2007, I relocated to California and joined the great team of physicians and surgeons at Kaiser Permanente. I have 15 years of experience in the Air National Guard, where I served as a flight surgeon. I was even deployed for more than nine months to Iraq. It was a privilege to serve my country overseas as a flight surgeon.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
It's my opinion that the physician-member relationship should work as a partnership, not a dictatorship. I feel each member and his or her physician bring special knowledge to the table that should be considered when making a decision. Together, my members and I decide on the best course of medical care after we have a full understanding of the options and repercussions.
Cómo vivo bien
I enjoy my family most of all. I'm married and have six children. I have three adult daughters and three young sons—the youngest two boys are twins. I love watching basketball and football, and I try to play basketball at least two or three times per week to stay in good physical condition. I also lift weights several times each week. I feel that everyone should find an activity that they enjoy in order to stay fit. If you like what you do, you're more inclined to stick with it and do it regularly.
