Acerca de mí
Hello, I am Dr. Kenneth Cho, a hospitalist for Kaiser Permanente here in the Antelope Valley. As a hospitalist, I serve members who are hospitalized due to injury or illness. Working in concert with their primary care physician as well as the entire team of Kaiser Permanente medical professionals, I do my best to help my patients get back on the road to recovery.
I was born in Korea, raised in Argentina, and am now practicing medicine in Southern California. I’m an extreme example of the diverse multicultural heritage embraced by Kaiser Permanente. I immigrated with my parents and sister to Argentina when I was only 10 and spent my youth in South America. Growing up, I was moved by mission doctors who were helping people in remote villages in Africa. Their endeavors drew me toward a career in medicine, providing me with a way to help others. I attended medical school in Buenos Aires and served a residency in Argentina. But I wanted to be at the vanguard of medicine, so I came to the United States. I spent time at Loma Linda and NYU before joining the team at Carney Hospital in Boston as an intern and resident. In my final year at Carney, a recruiter from Kaiser Permanente spoke to residents about joining that organization. He had a convincing pitch. My wife had family here, so we set off to Southern California and soon found ourselves in the Antelope Valley.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I chose internal medicine because I wanted to be able to treat the whole patient and not just focus on one particular organ or body system. By working within a hospital setting, I am able to see the results of my diagnosis and treatment in a matter of hours instead of months. I find this very rewarding.
Cómo vivo bien
Outside of the workplace, my tastes are as eclectic as my heritage. I love playing piano, sax, and drums, enjoying everything from Chopin classics to Beatles covers. I’m also a big fan of Dan Brown novels, traveling to diverse places with my family, and playing tennis as much as my schedule permits.
