Acerca de mí
Welcome, and thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself. It is very important for patients to feel comfortable with their physician. Hopefully, this page will help you get to know me as a person and a physician.
I was born and raised in Southern California, and began talking about wanting to be a doctor when I was still in grade school. My mom, who is a nurse, was a big inspiration to me, and helped crystalize my decision to study medicine by arranging for me to observe open-heart surgery when I was 16 years old. I was amazed by what I saw. Like my mother, I too wanted to provide medical care to help people recover from illness and remain well. I earned my undergraduate degree in biology at UC Riverside, and attended medical school at Loma Linda University. During my third year of medical school, I discovered that I enjoyed both surgery and delivering babies, so I chose to specialize in obstetrics and gynecology. I did my residency at UC Davis, and returned to Riverside to begin my practice, and have been with Kaiser Permanente since 2002. I live in Riverside with my husband and two children, and enjoy taking care of patients from the same community in which I was raised and now make my home.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
As an obstetrician and gynecologist, I care for female patients of all ages. I truly love what I do because I think that it is so important for women to have access to excellent health care. It is a privilege to teach girls and women about their bodies, and help them with health issues specific to women. I am honored to care for a woman and her child throughout pregnancy and delivery. Within obstetrics and gynecology, I take special interest in abnormal pap smears, and help manage the Cervical Dysplasia Registry, a system by which we follow women with abnormal pap smears. I am also interested in laparoscopic hysterectomy – removal of the uterus done through small incisions in the abdomen as opposed to the more traditional, larger incisions. I enjoy keeping current on new advances in my field, especially when I find that they improve my patients’ care experience.

Living a well-balanced life is very important to me. I believe that it is vital to attend equally to the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of one’s life. I spend most of my free time with my husband, our children, and extended family. I volunteer at my children's school and enjoy watching my son’s basketball games and my daughter's gymnastics meets. I started jogging a few years ago, and have progressed from running a 5K and then a 10K to eight half-marathons. I just recently completed my first marathon. I have a friend who runs with me, and we motivate each other to go farther!
