Acerca de mí
Hi, my name is Justin Bennink. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. Hopefully, this information helps you decide if I am the right physician to serve you.
I was born and raised here in San Diego. I am a Family Medicine physician and went into medicine because I wanted to help people live healthier, more fulfilling lives. I chose Family Medicine as a specialty because I enjoy serving members both young and old. I have always enjoyed reading and learning about health and disease, and practicing medicine affords me the opportunity to use that knowledge to help others make informed decisions about their health. I am also a husband and proud father of twins. Being a father has given me knowledge and insight into the joys and struggles of parenthood. I take into account how my recommendations might impact the well-being not just of a child patient but also of their parents and other family members. In my personal time, I enjoy woodworking in my garage, which I have converted into a woodshop.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
As a Family Medicine physician, I am fortunate to be able to serve entire families regardless of age. I enjoy seeing children, their parents, and their grandparents. I am also comfortable providing women’s health care and pride myself in being able to meet the majority of the health needs of members. However, I will not hesitate to refer or consult a specialist colleague if I am not sure of something. This way, members are able to manage their health with fewer total doctor visits because they have one doctor who knows them well and can meet their heath needs. I often see my role as an adviser to members. I strive to help them understand the medical evidence and empower them to make the treatment decisions that are right for them. I encourage members to be involved in their medical decisions for several reasons: there are not always clear right and wrong answers, so I believe it is important to help members understand when the evidence we have is clear and when it is less so. Every member is different, and evidence-based guidelines do not always apply to a member’s unique situation. Finally, when someone has chosen a treatment plan, they are much more likely to stick to that plan.
Cómo vivo bien
Being a physician is a large part of who I am as a person and part of how I thrive is the peace of mind I get from knowing that I continue to work to be the best physician I can be. After work, I enjoy unwinding at home with my wife and kids. I am also lucky to have extended family in the area that we enjoy spending time with. In my personal time, I am a woodworker and handyman around the house.
