Hello. I have been an internal medicine physician at Kaiser Permanente since 1989. I served as a primary care physician until 2006, and since then I have been working as a hospitalist. I now take care of adults who are in the hospital with medical problems.
I miss seeing the patients in the clinic whom I had gotten to know over the years. I try to help each person I see in the hospital understand and overcome their medical problems as quickly as possible, and though the relationship I have with hospital patients is hopefully short-lived, I try to get to know each person as a unique individual. I have found that each person has a history or a quality that makes him or her special and interesting.
I am happily married and have 2 beautiful daughters. I enjoy my work very much, and when not at work my favorite activity is just spending time with my family. My children are growing up much too fast, and I've enjoyed every minute of watching them grow. I also enjoy sports and exercise of all sorts, especially playing tennis with my wife. I try to get everyone to be active physically and mentally each day.
I try to eat healthy foods, exercise regularly, and, most of all, to feel well. I try to enjoy being around other people. I enjoy learning something new each day, whether it's from a person, a book, or the computer. Time is valuable, and I try to make the best of each moment. I've borrowed a quote from another web, which I find inspiring: I wove my webs for you because I liked you. After all, what's a life, anyway? We're born, we live a little while, we die. A spider's life can't help being something of a mess, with all this trapping and eating flies. By helping you, perhaps I was trying to lift up my life a trifle. Heaven knows anyone's life can stand a little of that.
