Hello, and welcome to my Web page. I recently joined Kaiser Permanente South Bay Medical Center , and feel very blessed to be part of this wonderful team. I have a passion for patient care, and my colleagues and I work together as a team to give our members the best care possible. I treat my patients the way I would want my family members to be treated—with respect and dignity.
I had aspirations of becoming a physician since early childhood, and was inspired by several physicians in my family. My grandfather practiced medicine until the day he died, serving underprivileged citizens of Greece. He was my greatest influence and role model. I began my medical training at the University of Illinois in Chicago. During my rotations as a medical resident in Cook County, I continued the “family tradition” of serving the underprivileged. After completing one year of general surgery training at Loyola University, I went to Martin Luther King Hospital for my emergency medicine training. While there, I was honored to be named Chief Resident. Martin Luther King Hospital provided the foundation for my medical practice; I decided to stay on as faculty and became an assistant professor. During my time there, I was given the titles of Director of Residency Research, Quality Assurance Co-Director, and also served on the peer review committee.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to have worked at many different hospitals in the Los Angeles area, including Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, Queen of the Valley in West Covina, Daniel Freeman Hospital in Inglewood, Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance, and Downey Regional Medical Center. I was fortunate to gain hands-on knowledge of various models emergency medicine practice in the wider community. I continue to remain active in academics. I strive to stay current on the medical literature, and I attend several national and international medical conferences each year. I value the trust that members give me to work with them to improve their health, and I feel privileged for the opportunity to make a difference in their lives.
I thrive by spending time with my wife and three beautiful children. I love to travel, experience different cultures and cuisine, and to celebrate life. My adventures include traveling to Greece, France, Italy, Spain, Cyprus, Turkey, and Israel just to name a few. The crowing jewel was a religious pilgrimage to see the Holy Sepulchre and to visit the tomb of Christ in Jerusalem. My other interests include enjoying automotive culture, classic rock, medical technology, and playing chess.
