Acerca de mí
Hello, and welcome to my Web page! I hope this helps you learn a little about me, my practice, and how I can work together with you to care for your health.
I grew up in the Bay Area. I have two brothers, and being active and playing outside was part of my normal routine growing up. I enjoyed playing all types of sports, but excelled in soccer. I took my love for the game to a more competitive level, eventually getting accolades in high school and playing all four years at UC Berkeley. Being a physician was not always intended but volunteering on several medical missions to the Philippines sparked that interest and fueled the fire to strive to help others in that capacity. As my medical training progressed from medical school to anesthesia residency, I yearned to develop and further relationships with my patients and help them to live the healthiest lives possible. Although I no longer play soccer at the same level that I used to, I still love being active and enjoying the outdoors. I have now moved towards less rigorous activities such as hiking and golf.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
According to many medical societies, pain is defined as "an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage, or described in terms of such damage." In essence, it is more than just a physical problem; there are emotional and psychological factors at play as well. In my pain management practice, my goal is to get your pain under better control and allow you to be able to do the things that you want to be able to do. How I go about that may differ from other practitioners, but it incorporates a multi-disciplinary approach involving targeted injections, optimized medications with less emphasis on opiates, physical therapy, acupuncture, and cognitive behavior therapy and biofeedback. Following this model with hopefully set you up for a sustainable path for better pain control.
