Acerca de mí
Welcome. It’s a pleasure to tell you about my medical practice and myself. It’s very important that you feel comfortable with your personal physician, and I hope this page will help you start to get to know me.
I was born and raised in a small farming community in Northern California and spent the summers with my grandparents. This time with my grandparents heavily influenced my choice of geriatrics as a specialty. I found myself listening closely to their stories and I came to respect my elders for what they’d done and experienced. Over time, I developed relationships with the elderly and advocated for their needs. My medical education has taken me across the country and back again, which has given me additional perspective on the members I treat. I’m invested in the community and often give talks to families and organizations regarding healthy aging, geriatric syndromes, and preparing for the future. I share my love for geriatrics in the education of medical residents at Naval Medical Center and UC San Diego. I also tutor anatomy and other science-related fields, help coach sports, and volunteer where needed at my daughters’ middle school.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I’m part of a team of health care professionals who are dedicated to the care of adults in need of guidance through the health care maze. My practice allows me to help the most vulnerable of our adult population, guiding them and their families through difficult times, helping them understand what concerns them, translating what they may not grasp, and communicating with them and their families. I provide continuing health care to these members under the scope of my specialty. This enables me to connect with and help people in a meaningful way, utilizing my medical skills and knowledge, but also listening and responding to what my members and their families need. My members may have a wide variety of needs, ranging from acute rehab services to palliative and end-of-life care. I see members in their home, and at various skilled nursing facilities throughout San Diego County.

I’m fortunate to work for Kaiser Permanente—an organization that shares my values and allows me to excel in all I do, personally and professionally. My wife, two daughters, and son mean the world to me, and they support me as I do them in each of our endeavors. I try to live a life of quality. This is reflected in all I do in my professional, and private life.
