Acerca de mí
Welcome. I’m glad to have the opportunity to introduce myself to you. I truly feel very fortunate to be working at Kaiser Permanente. I have been a part of this organization for over 13 years, and I cannot think of a better place to practice medicine. I am proud of what we have accomplished and excited about the new changes that are ahead of us.
I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and immigrated to the United States when I was 11. My first job, at the age of 15, was cleaning dishes and preparing food in the dietary department at St. John’s Hospital. I eventually worked on the floors handing out trays and later became a nurse’s aide and EMT (emergency medical technician). I loved that experience, which changed my life and motivated me to continue to medical school. I attended USC for both undergraduate and medical school and completed my residency in emergency medicine at Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center. I married a wonderful woman soon after my residency, and now we have two spectacular boys, who are a true joy.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I feel honored to be a physician. Emergency medicine is extremely interesting and satisfying. I enjoy working as part of a team. I love meeting new people, hearing about their lives, and providing compassionate care during an illness. I cannot think of anything else that I would rather do, and I strive to provide the best care possible.
Cómo vivo bien
My spare time is devoted to spending time with family and friends. My two little boys have very full schedules (more than I can remember having as a child). Both my wife and I are at all their activities (soccer, T-ball, basketball, school functions). We love going away on family vacations. I love to exercise, and I’m at the gym two to three times a week. I find working out to be a source of relaxation and a great way to maintain my health.
