Acerca de mí
Hello, Welcome to my web page.
I was born and raised in Lima, Peru, and moved to the United States with my family when I was 14 years old. I was high school valedictorian and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Biomedical Sciences. I moved to Cleveland, Ohio, to attend medical school at Case Western Reserve Medical School, where I graduated with honors and distinction in research. I remained in Cleveland to complete my Neurosurgery residency at University Hospitals of Cleveland and graduated with over 60 peer-reviewed publications. During residency, I was a Congress of State Neurosurgical Societies Socioeconomic fellow and part of the Neurotrauma Committee as well as a Congress of Neurological Surgeons Leadership fellow. I spent a year at the Swedish Neurological Institute in Seattle, Washington, and completed a fellowship in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery.
Acerca de mi práctica médica
I am a neurosurgeon trained in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery and perform several aspects of Neurosurgery. In addition to spine surgery, my interests include neurotrauma, oncology, and skull base surgery. It is important to exhaust non-surgical options prior to performing surgery. As a college student, I worked as a Spanish interpreter between patients and physicians. I am proud to be a native Spanish speaker and will use this asset to better serve the Kaiser Permanente community of Southern California.
Cómo vivo bien
Living a balanced life is of the utmost importance to me. I enjoy running, swimming, road cycling, triathlons, and hiking, and I look forward to learning how to surf now that I live close to the Pacific Ocean for the first time since leaving Peru.
